Cruise - JUNE 2, 2012
The Ron Robb Memorial Special
People Cruise is an annual event hosted by S.R.Y.C. Charities.
This free event provides individuals
with special needs with recreational and educational
opportunities. The Special People Cruise takes place at Starved
Rock Yacht Club along the Illinois River, adjacent to Starved
Rock State Park. Individuals of all ages are encouraged to
attend regardless of their need level as we can accommodate
wheelchairs and walkers.

Some Highlights of the Cruise Include:
* Boat rides along the Illinois River
(life jackets provided)
* Assortment of games, crafts, prizes and music
* Illinois river ecology and natural resource educational
activities
* Complimentary lunch provided to all participants

Community Outreach
S.R.Y.C. Charities and its
team of volunteers provide community outreach, education and
recreation throughout the Illinois River Valley by:
- Safely providing recreational
opportunities to individuals with special needs
- Hosting the annual Special People Cruise
Connecting
individuals with nature
Providing ecological education programs
Cultivating environmental stewardship
Supporting water conservation efforts

Registration Packet.

NOW AVAILABLE:
STEM
Trunk
S.R.Y.C. Charities has developed a free
STEM (science, technology, engineering and math)
resource trunk that can be loaned to elementary
teachers or nonprofits. The trunk features
literacy materials, science supplies and curriculum
that can be used to study local lakes and ponds-all
aligned to Illinois Learning Standards.
There is no cost associated with borrowing the STEM trunk. Please contact SRYC
Charities for more details or to borrow the trunk.
